The PRESPEC collaboration basically performs experiments at GSI, which prepare for HISPEC/DESPEC experiments. Detectors as well as experiment and analysis methods are developed, which will later be used in HISPEC/DESPEC. Although the very exotic unstable beams of FAIR are not yet accessible, the newly developed methods alone already establish new approaches into the investigation of nuclear matter.
